Introducing our Web Specialist.
Role: Simplify complexity.
The Web Specialist assists our Web Developer with updating content to our
rapidly changing online presence at HoustonsFirst.org. From designing and
manipulating graphics to shooting/editing video and writing code, this role
reflects the future of our capabilities in the print, web and video world.
Essentials: Team player, multi-tasker, creative thinker and innovator – the
blueprint of a successful designer.
These leadership qualities are hardwired into every artist on our team. We
challenge each other through weekly accountability, devotionals and
brainstorming. Key elements in our DNA include growing technically and
spiritually.
Qualities: Self-starter who engages in out-of-the-box thinking, manages
multiple priorities and drinks coffee.
We’re looking for a mix of endless imagination, glass-half-full attitude and
top-notch organization. There’s no doubt that we love what we do. We enjoy
working together as a team and are fulfilled when finishing a successful
project. We work hard, but we also play hard. We thrive in an environment

The Web Specialist position is a part of the Creative Services Team and
reports to the Creative Services Director. Office hours are Monday through
Friday, 8 am-4:30 pm.

Education Required
We are looking for someone with a BFA/BS/BA in web design, communication,
digital media or related field or 4 years experience in those fields. |
Experience Required
Experience with HTML, CSS, PHP and ASP required. Knowledge of content
management systems a plus. |
Computer Skills
You should be comfortable some or all of the following: Photoshop, InDesign,
Illustrator, Dreamweaver, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Word, Excel and
Entourage. A knowledge of Mac OSX is a plus. |
